For this invited competition, we developed an urban plan that expresses a new type of digital culture.

We believe that future media oriented cities will be less like a machine and more like a marketplace - where ideas and experiences are shared, multiple connections are possible, and diverse activities are overlaid in a fine-grained mix. We envision the IMA as a marketplace for media firms, experiences, and learning that is shaped by technology. Here, the physical form of the city and digital communications are joined to create a new kind of urban environment.
